The Youth NGO sector is faced with the challenge of continuous collapse and weakening status. The current financial turmoil faced by the world today is likely to worsen the situation in the sector if things are not taken seriously. The repercussions of this may not be felt now, but would definitely hit hard on the NGO sector in the near future as it depends on aid for existence.

This newsletter highlights a research conducted by the Youth Development Network on the “current status and role of youth NGOs in current democratic South Africa. The study speaks to some of the challenges faced by the sector and what approach is needed to make sure that the sector does not completely collapse in the wake of the financial crisis facing the whole world.
