As part of its Advocacy programme, the Youth Development Network has embarked on a process of developing a Youth NGOs Anti-Poverty Strategy which aims as coming up guidelines and programmes that would be useful in addressing poverty amongst young people. The strategy is envisaged to feed into the main national anti-poverty strategy being developed by the government to address poverty in South Africa.
To solicit contributions and involve youth NGOs and stakeholders in the development of Youth NGOs Anti-Poverty Strategy document, the YDN will be hosting a two day Youth NGOs Summit on August 18 – 19, 2010. This is a follow-up to the conference for Youth NGOs held in May, 2010. Discussions documents with more information on the summit can be downloaded from the dedicated Anti-Poverty Strategy development webpage on this website.
